The protocol must support expansion to thousands of transactions per second over time, enabled by technologies such as zkEVM validation and PeerDAS-based data availability, with future scaling driven primarily through parameter adjustments.

Long-Term State Sustainability

Ethereum’s state model must support high throughput for decades without overwhelming node operators, requiring partial statelessness, state expiry, and future-proof storage design.

DoS-Resistant Gas Economics
